Gazi University Hospital Nursing Services Directorate and Gazi University Faculty of Nursing Scientific Event Organizing Commission cooperated with the program "Our Nurses: Our Future". Hospital Nursing Services Manager Dane Bursa talked about the importance of nursing and nursing services. Dean of the Faculty of Nursing Prof. Dr. Sultan Ayaz Alkaya also talked about the importance of nursing, the duties of nurses and their services. Explaining that nurses take on key roles in disasters such as global epidemics and earthquakes, Prof. Dr. Sultan Ayaz Alkaya stated that nurses are an important part of health services. Chief Physician Assoc. Dr. Hasan Bostancı stated that the nurses went to the earthquake area voluntarily, without question, and they worked devotedly.
Assoc. Dr. Hasan Bostancı's after speech, Dean of the Faculty of Medicine Prof. Dr. Mustafa Necmi İlhan's speech started. Prof. Dr. Mustafa Necmi İlhan said, "They are part of a team and we are strong with this team."
The last opening speech of the program was made by our Rector Prof. Dr. Musa Yıldız. “The program, which was prepared in cooperation with Gazi University Faculty of Nursing and Gazi University Hospital Nursing Services Directorate, is the proof of the effort, unity and solidarity made in raising qualified nurses.” After the earthquake disaster, both our teachers from our faculty of nursing and our nurses from our hospital have always voluntarily participated in our teams that we regularly send to the region to heal the wounds to some extent. The contributions and achievements of our nurses, both in the academic field and in the health sector, have always been a source of pride for us.”
After the opening speeches, Turkish Nurses Association President Assoc. Dr. Azize Atlı Özbaş, “ICN 2023 Theme from a National Perspective”, Ankara University Faculty of Theology Department of Philosophy and Religious Studies, Department of Psychology of Religion Lecturer Prof. Dr. Öznur Özdoğan gave information on “Nursing and Spiritual Empowerment”. The program continued with a music concert.
